Description:
MPE is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Engineer with a strong background in Civil or Environmental Process Engineering to take a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging, community‑shaping projects while contributing to the ongoing growth and expertise of our team.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning, design, and execution of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including:
- Treatment facilities
- Water pump stations, reservoirs, and distribution systems
- Wastewater lift stations and collection systems
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Prepare and oversee technical reports, proposals, and engineering documentation.
- Contribute to proposal development and participate in business development initiatives to secure new work.
- Manage feasibility studies, pilot programs, environmental assessments, capacity/condition evaluations, and risk analyses.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project alignment and compliance.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technologists.
- Promote and uphold Englobe’s health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in water and/or wastewater treatment system design.
- Eligible to be registered as a P.Eng., P.L.(Eng.), or P.Tech.(Eng.) with municipal project experience in Alberta.
- Working knowledge of structural, HVAC, electrical, and controls disciplines.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through design and contract administration.
- Proven track record of strong client service.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
