About the role

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Learning and Development Facilitator will support the design, facilitation, and implementation of soft skill training programs aligned with project goals and learner needs. This role involves delivering engaging training sessions, supporting curriculum development, and ensuring participants gain critical workplace competencies through interactive and experiential learning. The Learning and Development Facilitator will also contribute to program evaluation, conducting relevant research, and assisting with administrative and reporting tasks as assigned by the Learning and Development Manager, to ensure the success and continuous improvement of training initiatives. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic communicator with developed facilitation skills, a passion for learner development, and the ability to adapt training delivery in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

WAGE: $18/ hour

HOURS PER WEEK: 35

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: September 2nd to December 19th

LOCATION: Hybrid Remote in Beamsville, ON

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Curriculum Delivery & Workshop Coordination*:*

  • Lead and facilitate program sessions, workshops, and training events for external clients.

  • Effectively ensure all participants are engagedandobjectivesare met during program facilitation.

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for participants, encouraging active participation, discussion, and collaboration amongst individuals or groups.

  • Implement program curriculum or content in a manner that is accessible and conducive to learning, adapting as necessary to meet the needs of participants.

Workforce Development and Support:

  • Deliver tailored external workshops to support employee development and workforce readiness.

  • Align programming with client needs to promote professional growth.

Program Evaluation and Development:

  • Assist in evaluating training effectiveness through surveys, feedback, and progress monitoring.

  • Analyze and research the region's political and economic landscape, identifying opportunities for programs and partners.

  • Assist in program and project design processes.

  • Distribute the results of research and other activities including drafting reports, proposals, and presentations.

Administrative & Client Support:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for training sessions and events.

  • Draft reports, proposals, and presentation materials to advance Learning and Development initiatives.

  • Maintain stakeholder relationships through professional and consistent communication.

  • All other duties as required.

**WORKINGENVIRONMENT/**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hybrid with frequent meetings through Microsoft Teams.

  • In-person attendance may be required for various office functions.

  • Onsite client meetings.

  • Off-site external workshops.

PROGRAMS / SOFTWARE USED:

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office.

  • Please note, no prior experience is required and access to programs/software is provided by Civiconnect.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education, or a related field, is not required but is considered an asset.

  • Passionate about using their analytical skills to identify problems, find solutions and improve relationships.

  • Previous teaching or facilitation experience is considered an asset.

  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Civiconnect receives government funding based on certain eligibility requirements. Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • Must be between 18-29 years of age

  • Must be enrolled in part-time or full-time studies at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a co-op or internship

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
