The Role
As the Safety & Training Coordinator, you will play a key role in promoting a safe, compliant, and growth-oriented workplace. You will support managers and supervisors by ensuring they have the resources, tools, and training needed to maintain a safe environment for their teams. This role blends the coordination of workplace safety programs with the delivery of engaging training that builds skills, reinforces compliance, and strengthens Ganong’s culture of safety and learning.

Who You Are
You are a proactive and dedicated professional who values both safety and learning. You thrive on working closely with managers, supervisors, and the Joint Health & Safety Committee to maintain effective safety practices, conduct audits and inspections, lead incident investigations, and coordinate emergency drills while ensuring documentation is complete and compliant. At the same time, you bring a passion for employee development, organizing and delivering engaging training programs, tracking certifications, and partnering with managers to identify needs and close skill gaps. You understand how to design practical, compliant training experiences that enhance learning and confidence, and you promote accountability by encouraging employee participation in safety and training initiatives. By staying current on evolving safety regulations, industry standards, and innovative training methods, you help foster a workplace where people feel safe, supported, and motivated to succeed.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in a health & safety, training, or HR-related role (manufacturing or food production experience an asset).
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and training compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with learning management systems (LMS) is an asset.
- Diploma or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Training & Development, or a related field preferred.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
