OVERVIEW
The Dietary Aide supports the Food Services Department in providing safe, nutritious, and high-quality meals. Working as part of a collaborative team, the Dietary Aide assists with food preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, and sanitation duties while ensuring a patient- and family-centred approach to service. This role plays an important part in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment and delivering excellent customer service.
ROLE

Follow all departmental, health, and legislated safety and sanitation practices
-
Receive, handle, and store food products and supplies according to established procedures
-
Assemble patient trays and deliver meals to patient care units in accordance with dietary requirements and departmental policies
-
Support patient and family-centred care by assisting with menu selection, meal delivery, unit par stocking, and retrieval of used trays
-
Provide courteous, respectful service to patients, families, staff, and visitors

Perform pot washing, dishwashing, and cleaning of kitchen equipment and food service areas

Operate food service equipment such as dishwashers, meat slicers, Heat on Demand systems, and tablets used for patient menu selection

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Food Handler Certificate
-
Healthcare food service experience (desired)
-
Food Service Worker Certificate (desired)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
**Location:**South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
**Hours of Work:**Must be available to work shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
