About the role
De Havilland Aircraft of Canada is seeking motivated and technically curious engineering students to join our Core Engineering team for a 16-month internship. Opportunities are available in our Calgary, AB, Victoria, BC and Mississauga, ON offices. You will work directly with experienced engineers across a range of aircraft systems and disciplines, contributing to ongoing design, analysis, testing, and support activities that keep our aircraft performing safely and efficiently.

Stress Analysis

Completions & Customer Engineering
Project and Liaison Engineering
Ground Test
Materials & Processes (M&P)
**Responsibilities:**Depending on your team placement, you can expect to:
- Assist in the creation and modification of engineering drawings and 3D CAD models (primarily using CATIA).
- Support the preparation and review of technical documents, reports, and compliance analyses for internal and regulatory use.
- Perform calculations and simulations for structural loads, performance assessments, stress analysis, or system sizing.
- Review and analyze aircraft test data, and help investigate in-service or production issues.
- Contribute to configuration management, bill of materials tracking, and engineering change notices (ECNs).
- Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and cross-functional coordination with other engineering groups, production, and customer support.
- Develop tools and scripts to automate engineering workflows or improve process efficiency (in Excel, MATLAB, Python, etc., as applicable).
- Shadow senior engineers and support field investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
- Completion of at least 2 years of study by the start of the internship.
- A strong interest in aircraft systems, structures, and design.
- Working knowledge of engineering tools such as CATIA, MATLAB, Excel/VBA, or other technical software (varies by role).
- Clear communication skills and the ability to take initiative while working as part of a team.
