Position Overview
As a Mover, you will be responsible for carefully loading the damaged items from affected homes and transport them to our processing warehouse. Once our processing technicians restore the items and our reconstruction team rebuilds the client’s home, you will deliver the belongings back to the clients home. You get to enjoy the smiles on the client’s faces!
This role is primarily Monday to Friday with shifts from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, but may be called after hours for priority claims. This position also works in a loud environment with unsanitary contents. PPE may be required at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
Contents
- Loading and unloading furniture and boxes from a truck and into the warehouse or customers home
- Inventory and photograph contents using iCat inventory software
- Pack up items to be transported to the processing warehouse
- When the home or building is restored, return the items and put furniture back in place
- Thoroughly clean smoke residue form contents and structures
- Provide post construction cleaning to prepare a house/business for occupancy
- Driving a 3 and/or 5-ton truck
- Working with a positive and motivated team
Health and Safety
- Ensure that self and others adhere to Canstar’s health and safety practices and procedures
- Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently
- Understand safety policies and protocols
- Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required

A personable and well-organized individual with outstanding customer service skills is a match made in heaven for a Mover. Experience working in a fast-paced environment focused on internal and external customer service will have you off on the right foot for this position.
Other important attributes of a future Canstar are:
- The physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50lbs safely and repeatedly and stand throughout your shift
- A great attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and serve our customers – we have a fun and hard-working team and are looking for someone with the skills to compliment them
- Ability to wear PPE (this may include gloves, respirators, goggles, hard hats and Tyvek suits)
- A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to attend on call sites is a must (milage reimbursed)
- A clean criminal record is required
