Scope
Are you an experienced Heavy Duty or Commercial Service Manager or Supervisor with a passion for leadership and mentoring? If this sounds like you, we encourage you to keep reading! We are now accepting applications for a Garage Superintendent who will lead a team of Mechanics in enhancing the levels of service to our customers.
Responsibilities
Work closely with and provide direction to Mechanics, Supervisors, Parts and Office support staff on overall turn-around time, both at the Fleet Operations Centre and Fire Service Garage
Identify training requirements and develop a skills matrix for staff while providing guidance and mentorship on day-to-day operation
Liaise directly and manage vendors on vehicle and generator repairs, pricing, and qualit
Work closely with our Business Enhancement Team to leverage our fleet asset management program (AssetWorks) to streamline business processes.
Manage the city's Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspection/PM program
Qualifications
A Red Seal Qualification in Commercial Heavy Duty or Automotive Mechanics;
A minimum of 10 years' experience in the trade supplemented by demonstrated leadership of supervising a team of Commercial and/or Heavy Duty Mechanics;
A safe driving record
Experience managing a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program and comprehensive understanding of the legislation
Assets Include:
A British Columbia Class 3 Driver's License or out of province equivalent
Training and/or courses completed in leadership
Experience leveraging fleet asset management programs
Designated Facility Operators certificate
Directly related experience with a public sector organization or franchise heavy duty/commercial dealership
Experience with emergency vehicle equipment, maintenance and repair

Annual Salary: $108,999 - $128,234
