Cook II
At Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, every unforgettable dining experience begins in the heart of our kitchen. As a Cook II, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality culinary experiences that reflect our commitment to excellence, consistency, and luxury service.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Cook II, you will support daily culinary operations with professionalism, efficiency, and creativity, ensuring all dishes meet Fairmont’s high standards:

Prepare, cook, and plate menu items with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail

Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to Fairmont luxury brand standards with consistency and precision

Maintain exceptional standards of kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety
-
Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering processes
-
Adhere to all kitchen policies, procedures, and safety standards
-
Learn and execute menu items, daily features, and promotional offerings
-
Deliver proactive, friendly service while collaborating effectively with the culinary team
-
Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall kitchen operations
-
Participate in mandatory training, orientation, and ongoing development sessions to support operational excellence and compliance with union requirements
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Role
We are seeking a passionate culinary professional with the following qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a banquet or restaurant culinary environment
- Culinary Arts diploma or certification (considered an asset)
- Valid Food Safe certification (required)
- Strong passion for culinary excellence, creativity, and guest service
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and strong organizational skills
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required
Physical Requirements

Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift

Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.

Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders

Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
