The Role

They are seeking a Director of Engineering to provide strategic leadership across their engineering organization. This is a hands-on position where they will oversee global engineering operations, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and meet customer and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will act as a key bridge between executive leadership and engineering teams, guiding technical strategies and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering; Master’s degree or MBA considered a strong advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering experience in wellhead systems, gate valves, or pressure control equipment, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing engineering projects across domestic and international markets, navigating complex customer requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO) relevant to oilfield equipment.
  • Demonstrated success in building and mentoring multidisciplinary, high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of collaborating with internal teams and global clients.
  • Business-minded, able to translate technical strategies into operational plans aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Experienced in structured problem-solving, continuous improvement, and using data-driven insights.
  • Comfortable with modern engineering tools, digital platforms, and project management software.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and adaptable to dynamic priorities and global business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering function, aligning objectives with corporate goals.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of product design and development, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Service to enhance workflows and technical execution.
  • Establish and monitor engineering KPIs, SOPs, and process controls to promote operational excellence.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Support business development and customer engagements with technical insight and solution-oriented thinking.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives and introduce emerging technologies to maintain competitiveness.
  • Ensure regional adaptability of engineering practices for both North American and international projects.
  • Represent the engineering organization in executive-level discussions and contribute to corporate strategy.
