About the role
Job Title: CNC Milling Operator
Location: Mississauga, ON Pay Rate: CA$25.00 per hour Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Shift: Afternoon shift Job Overview We are currently hiring an experienced CNC Milling Operator for a growing custom machine-building environment. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who can independently set up, program, and operate Haas CNC Mills while producing high-precision components to tight tolerances. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, hands-on machining experience, and the ability to optimize processes for quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently set up, program, and operate Haas CNC Mills
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam
- Program using G-code and conversational controls
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, inserts, speeds, and feeds based on material type and tolerances
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust offsets as required
- Improve cycle times and machining efficiency through continuous optimization
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Complete setup sheets, production logs, and program documentation accurately Qualifications
- Technical diploma in Machining, Manufacturing, or related field (required)
- Minimum 3+ years of CNC milling setup and programming experience
- Strong experience operating Haas CNC Mills
- Advanced proficiency in Mastercam - Strong understanding of GDsT and blueprint reading
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Experience working in a custom machine-building environment
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing drawings
- Manual machining experience (lathe / mill) considered an asset
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines - Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
