Harvest has an immediate opening for a Measurement Coordinator & PVR Support Technician , reporting to the Manager, Operations. This is a permanent based out of the field (Sylvan Lake area).
Key Responsibilities:
• Measurement Coordinator:
o Ensuring that acceptable measurement balances are maintained.
o Provide fit-for-purpose measurement and metering advice on technical and operational issues brought up by Operations, Engineering, Production Accounting and auditors as required.
o Assist in auditing of production facilities and ensuring compliance with Government and Corporate requirements.
o Work with the measurement group to understand and maintain/interpret AER, BCER, CER, AGA, API, and EPAP requirements.
o Consult on site-specific measurement practices to ensure that Harvest and AER measurement requirements are met, and product allocations are accurate.
o Monthly review of Compliance Assessment Indicators (CAI) report from Petrinex.
o Educate Operations, Engineering, and Production Accounting personnel on methods to ensure produced gas and liquids are properly measured.
o Maintain a high level of knowledge and educate auditors and engineers on new and emerging Measurement technologies.
o Develop and Promote the Harvest Measurement Guidelines, well testing handbook, and corporate Standards and Recommended Practices (SARP’s) for Measurement.
o Verifying metering equipment calibration reports, updating equipment and/or range changes, verifying proper tagging of equipment, and ensuring the master meter list is current.
o Validate and approve analysis for use in metering and accounting systems.
o Ensure that analysis is accurately entered into SCADA flow computers.
o Provide technical assistance regarding range changes, plate changes, and equipment changes to process metering equipment.
o Assisting in the maintenance and development of measurement processes and procedures.
o Ensure PM schedule is reviewed for compliancy as per regulatory requirements and industry standards, and meters are calibrated in the appropriate quarters.
o Relay ongoing issues or updates regarding Corporate MIP to the area, as well as provide documentation to Corporate Measurement team involving area status on the various EPAP themes.
o Manage and update the Measurement Schematics.
o Perform periodic schematic and accounting setup reviews with Production Accountants.
o Provide the Engineering group with measurement design support on all projects.
o Assist with the development of all third-party sales agreements.
o Monitor that charts are scanned into Critical Controls ProChart in a timely manner.
o Initiate and/or participate in various measurement related audits throughout the year.
o Monthly reviews of Flare and Vent volumes reported in Flare/Vent Logs, PVR and Petrinex to ensure consistency through all systems.
o Troubleshooting and making recommendations for the resolution of measurement problems
• PVR Support Technician:
o Provide PVR support to field operations, Production Accounting and others through Manage Engine support ticket system and email systems.
o Lock down PVR database after month end to maintain controls on data integrity as Production Accounting processes production data
o Execute EPAP controls and participate on the EPAP team to prepare the annual declaration.
o Facilitate the Well Status Sheet (WSS) process, ensuring that spreadsheets are filled in correctly, update PVR master setup and distribute sheets accordingly
o Manage 3rd party production data in and out utilizing Data Scavenger to gather and share the data. Maintain the DS list of active wells and cross check to ensure all wells are still active and add/remove as necessary
o Validate JV agreement updates with PVR setup and make changes as needed
o Monitor costs of services and optimize pricing schedules
o Run periodic reports to look for anomalies and errors in data or missing data
o Monitor the DPR reports, investigate and correct when errors occur.
o Watch for issues in database scripts executing reports and processing data and correct as needed
o Monthly review of Compliance Assessment Indicators (CAI) report from Petrinex and investigate/fix PVR related issues.
o Address exceptions that arise from 3rd party companies regarding negative volumes, hour on and additional wells
o Train Harvest staff to use PVR software effectively.
o Maintain active user lists for PVR and update PVR security user profiles as required based on new hires and departures notifications.
o Maintain Lists in PVR for external locations and vendors for trucking products in and out of Harvest facilities.
o Manage the PVR hierarchy to match up with corporate hierarchy.
o Update factors such as GOR’s, and ECF’s as new data is available.
o Updating PVR setup to match up with changes made to metering schematics
o Monitor SCADA imports, watch for communications issues and follow up with the field to assist in rectifying problems.
o Setup SCADA\DS imports for new meters and wells and confirm proper data is mapped to the proper locations in PVR
o Clean up of old PVR setup issues and sold abandoned wells and facilities to maintain a clean set of data that is easier to be managed
o Monitor for rolling data and investigate why new data isn’t available and correct
o Look for better ways to utilize the software we have and exploit new unused features
o Manage software upgrades and implementation of the use of new features
Qualifications:
• Post-Secondary or CET education with trade certification in instrumentation is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with measurement experience
• Production accounting, process, and instrumentation experience considered a strong asset
• MS Flow calculation / sizing software
• Knowledge of SCADA based control systems
• PVR administration experience
• Required to maintain all safety and regulatory courses
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Periodic travel throughout field operations may be required.
