The Yukon public service has a unique opportunity for recent graduates who have a post-secondary diploma or degree but lack real-world work experience. With GradCorps, you can kick-start your career while putting your passion, ideas and energy to work with the Yukon public service.

The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Board (WSCB) has a GradCorps opportunity for a Manager, Occupational Hygiene Services. In this role, you would job shadow and gain experience developing, promoting and evaluating WSCB hygiene programs and services, ensuring compliance with safety management practices related to workplace hazards. The position will plan and conduct occupational hygiene inspections with employers that have high risk occupational hygiene issues such as asbestos, silica, noise, air contaminants and hazardous products, and provide occupational hygiene guidance and support to employers, workers, officers and staff.

This position will work for a one-year Term from approximately March 2026 to March 2027. The salary will be 80% of the starting salary - $84,477

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Hygiene, or a bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene/safety, science, math, engineering or related fields
  • Experience with report writing Registered Occupational Hygienist or Certified Industrial Hygienist is an asset

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Candidates should have and may be assessed on:

  • Ability to interpret and apply the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Act and regulations
  • Ability to recommend effective controls and preventive measures
  • Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control strategies
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Additional Information

***Conditions of Employment:***Class 5 Yukon Drivers’ License.

Job Requirements: Must be willing to travel throughout the Yukon.

NOTE: To qualify for the GradCorps program, you must:

  • be a resident of Yukon or a person of Yukon First Nations ancestry*

  • have graduated with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution within the past two years (2024, 2025 or 2026 grads – all requirements for graduation must be complete before internship start date)

  • have little or no work experience in your field of study

  • If you are a resident of Yukon who completed your studies outside of the territory, you may apply up to two years after graduation.
