About the role

Your Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced mental health professional to join our Vermilion Child & Youth Health Services team! The ideal candidate will have a completed and valid license under the Health Professions Act, be knowledgeable and have significant experience working with children and families, be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances, and be motivated to learn and develop their clinical skills within a team environment. This position contributes to the establishment and maintenance of the Mental Health resources in the community. The successful candidate will directly provide intensive supports and treatment to complex child and adolescent patients and families. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with service delivery in rural setting as well as certificates in play therapy, trauma therapy, experience working with community agencies such as Schools, CPS, and other stakeholders is preferred
