Position Summary:
Reporting to the Production Control Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for controlling all inventory movements between the warehouse and manufacturing to ensure production schedules can be maintained, while ensuring accurate inventories. The role also ensures that all finished product is removed from production in a timely manner, to ensure production efficiency.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Provides a high level of customer service to the manufacturing plant, ensuring that manufacturing receives all required raw materials, components, oil plant and packaging materials in a timely manner to meet production timelines and targets.
- Supports on inbound of seed trucks and out bound of cake trucks. (Oil Plant Only)
- Drum trailer inventory monitoring, unloading.
- Ensures all finished product and returned materials from production are put away into assigned locations.
- Looks after ensuring all waste is removed from the plant.
- Ensures all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Ensures that all changes to inventory is kept up-to-date within the organization’s ERP system.
- Operates forklifts and other powered mobile lifting equipment to load, unload and transport materials.
- Adheres to all forklift training to ensure all safety rules, procedures and practices are followed.
- Provides hands-on support to the warehouse during downtime.
- Cross-trains on other jobs and tasks within the Warehouse.
- Works collaboratively with the quality team to ensure all products and components meet quality standards and expectations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous warehousing and/or forklift experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to work outdoors as required.
- Strong teamwork, customer service and collaboration skills required.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a forklift license.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Must possess strong organization skills, including organizing paperwork.
- Must be able to work independently.
