Position Details
The University is seeking a strategic and highly organized Special Events and Engagement Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of institutional and community-focused events that elevate the University’s reputation and foster strong relationships with alumni, donors and external partners.
Reporting to the Director of Alumni and Community Relations, this role is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of high-impact events – from logistical planning and vendor management to on-site execution and post-event reporting. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the University, including senior leadership, academic units and administrative departments, to ensure each event reflects the University’s brand, values and commitment to meaningful engagement.
In addition to leading signature events within External Relations, the Coordinator provides expert guidance and hands-on support for Faculty-led events. This includes advising on best practices, coordinating shared resources, managing logistics and contributing to the University’s broader engagement strategies.
This role requires flexibility, including availability for some evening and weekend work, and a passion for creating engaging, mission-aligned experiences.

Position Qualifications

A high school diploma is required. A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing and

event planning would be an asset.

2-4 years of event management experience is required.

Experience in a University environment. Knowledge of ULethbridge’s culture and stakeholders is an asset.

Proficiency with CRM systems and reporting, with a preference for experience with Raiser’s Edge.

Excellent organization and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

A high degree of interpersonal acumen, with demonstrated relationship-building capacities, customer service, partnership building, andcommunity engagement.

A high level of professionalism, a positive attitude, and the ability to meaningfully engage with a variety of people on- and off-campus.

Service-oriented, can-do attitude, and willingness to learn.

Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure.

Willingness to work weekends and evenings.

A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$4,691.00 - $5,246.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
