Procurement Sourcing Specialist Salary Range: $65,000 - $97,000 Location: Prince George, BC or Vancouver, BC

As aProcurement Sourcing Specialist at Drax, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies that maximize value while ensuring effective governance and risk management.
You will manage the procurement process, including tendering, negotiation, and contract management, while fostering strong supplier relationships. Evaluating external spending for risk, value, and cost will also be key to your success.

Your Day-to-Day as a Procurement Sourcing Specialist, You’ll be:
- Deliver strategic sourcing initiatives for North America, more focused on our sites in Canada, to align with business strategies and ensure early engagement in procurement processes.
- Achieve cost savings and non-financial targets to support Drax's business strategy.
- Manage the tender process from technical specifications and scope to contract award, ensuring efficient Procure-To-Pay (P2P) practices post-award.
- Meet key project milestones and deliver results within agreed timelines.
- Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory requirements, and legislation.
- Provide guidance on best practices and incorporate sustainability into supply chain decision-making.
- Support stakeholders in budget management and collaborate with finance teams to monitor expenditures.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to oversee costs, performance, and third-party relationships.
- Coordinate and provide support as required to the Procure-To-Pay (P2P) outsourcing team.
- Adjust strategies based on changes in the supply base as needed.
What you’ll bring: To excel in this vital role, you’ll need:
- Strong technical procurement skills coupled with the ability to drive best practices and innovation.
- Good understanding of contract terms and conditions, along with strong negotiation skills and the ability to proactively challenge stakeholders and their demands.
- Degree qualified.
- Capable of driving change in traditional stakeholder relationships and garnering business support for new ways of working that create value for Drax.
- Ability to provide prompt, efficient, and personalized service to stakeholders and business units at all levels, ensuring individual stakeholder needs are met and building productive relationships.
- High level of personal integrity and professionalism.
- Self-starter with a "can do/will do" attitude, demonstrating energy, drive, and commitment to making things happen.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies to achieve alignment.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the capability to proactively challenge stakeholders and their demands.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Demonstrates resilience and the ability to navigate complex challenges and deal with ambiguity.
- Project management experience or actively working towards it.
- World Contracting & Commerce certification (formerly IACCM) will be supported within this role.
- Familiarity with categories such as Industrial Services; Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation; Mechanical and Civil Engineering Services and Equipment; Sustenance Capex projects; and Supply Agreements – MRO and Consumables (including PPE).
