Who Are You?
Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Journeyman Machinist applies their experience and passion for precision manufacturing to take projects from blueprint to reality. You’ll be responsible for programming and operating manual and CNC machines to produce high-quality components that support WBM’s reputation for excellence.
What Will You Do?
- Operate manual and CNC machines including lathes, mills, boring mills, drills, saws, and machining centers
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to machine parts to exact specifications
- Suggest machining procedures and perform quality checks to identify and address defects
- Produce high-quality machined parts for use in heavy equipment attachments
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on tools and equipment as required
- Provide quality customer service to internal clients by responding promptly to machining needs
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects accurately and on time
- Comply with all safety procedures and regulations (WBM, OH&S, and other relevant legislation)
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Use sound judgment, follow instructions, and maintain a high standard of quality and safety
- Perform other related duties as required
Sound Familiar?
- Alberta Journeyman Ticket in Machining (or equivalent certification)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant machining experience
- Advanced knowledge of general safety practices
- In-depth understanding of machining tools, equipment, and their maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with others
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated reliability, honesty, and strong work ethic
- Physically fit to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Excellent safety record and commitment to continuous improvement
