This role –Manager, Executive Compensation & Incentive Design– reports to theSr. Director, Executive Compensation & Rewardsand is responsible for collaborating with senior leaders to design and execute on both bonus and equity programs for all RBI brands and regions. Annual budget for our incentive programs is approximately $200 MM in cash and equity incentives. Own the design, governance, and execution of annual bonus and equity programs that define how 2,700+ employees and executives across RBI's global brands are rewarded.
This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership across RBI’s business units and functions and provides an excellent opportunity to grow as our function evolves. The ideal candidate will have thorough understanding of financial and non-financial performance metrics for RBI business units, with the ability to strategically apply them within existing HR framework to drive the right outcomes for RBI and its brands/regions.
Executive Compensationis a global function responsible for RBI’s:
-**Annual Bonus Program:**Design and execution of the Management by Objectives (MBO) program central to RBI’s performance and compensation philosophies. -**Equity Programs (incl. Bonus Swap):**Design and execution of the Bonus Swap and Discretionary Equity programs that contribute to a significant portion of total direct compensation of senior leaders. -**Executive Compensation:**Support Board and Leadership Team with recommendations on market competitiveness, trends, benchmarking, and offer preparation for VP+ population. -**Governance & Disclosure:**Plan design and compensation decisions for RBI Board of Directors review and approval for all matters related to executive compensation and incentives; preparation of the Proxy Statement including Compensation Discussion & Analysis for investors.
RBI follows a 5 day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Successful candidates will be expected to work onsite 5 days per week in our Toronto office.
What You'll Do:
Annual Bonus Program
- Design and manage the annual bonus program for all corporate (2,700+) employees; benchmark program design to ensure program is competitive against market.
- Partner across all our brands and functions to identify relevant KPIs and targets; track progress throughout the year and provide summary reports to CEO and Leadership Team.
- Improve on existing bonus flowthrough model; collaborate with Finance on financial management of RBI’s bonus compensation, totaling US$100+ MM globally.
- Manage and execute program, including processing people moves, team changes, pivots in priorities, and maintenance of back-end process automations.
Equity Programs
- Design and manage equity compensation program for all employees eligible for discretionary and bonus swap; benchmark program design to ensure program is competitive against market.
- Prepare and manage budget for all equity instruments, including PSUs and RSUs; collaborate with RBI Finance on financial & accounting management, totaling $90+ MM in annual RSU and PSU awards.
- Execution of Annual Discretionary Equity planning process, including preparation of planning files and coordination with senior leaders to award annual discretionary equity for senior leaders.
Executive Compensation & Governance
- Conduct research and prepare recommendations on market competitiveness, trends, and best practices in executive pay for RBI CEO and Leadership Team.
- Partner with Leadership and People Business Partner in preparation of individualized offers for key hires.
- Prepare Compensation Committee materials and obtain Board approval for executives / senior leadership pay decisions, bonus program design, and equity program design.
- Collaborate with Legal and Finance in preparation of annual proxy statement and other SEC disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Build and maintain compensation models for scenario planning, pay-for-performance analysis, and financial impact modeling.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Superior analytical skills and advanced financial acumen with ability to develop and maintain complex financial models – advanced Excel skills.
- 3+ years of experience working in Compensation, Finance, Analytics, or equivalent teams
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative fields such as mathematics, finance, engineering, business, statistics, economics, or related field.
- Program management, communication, stakeholder management, negotiating and influencing experience with a track record of achieving engagement from cross-functional stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of how large, multi-brand organizations like RBI operate – ability to navigate complex org structures, build trust across functions/brands and levels, and translate business context into compensation program design and decisions.
- We welcome candidates from Executive Compensation and Broad-Based Compensation backgrounds, Finance/Strategy professionals, and internal RBI talent from roles such as FP&A, Analytics, People, and Operations, who bring strong business acumen and a desire to build deep expertise in this space.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP) designation, or progress towards certification, is an asset.
- Experience with compensation benchmarking databases (e.g. Radford, Mercer, WTW, CompAnalyst) and/or equity administration platforms (e.g. Solium, Fidelity).
- Experience with Snowflake for data management and analytics.
- Familiarity with AI and automation tools (Power Automate, ChatGPT/Claude agents/assistants).
Salary
For candidates based in Ontario, the expected salary range is $105,000 – $130,000 CAD. Base salary for this position may vary based on relevant factors such as experience, education, location, and skills.
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual discretionary bonus plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the incentive program, based on individual and company performance metrics. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation in the form of equity grants pursuant to the Company’s long-term incentive plan.
