Position Summary:
The Parking Supervisor position is committed to providing supervision for parking volunteers during most events and is responsible for the protection and safeguarding of guests and employees and volunteers. This position is committed to providing a positive first impression. The position requires physical activity including standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00-$23.00 CAD
Benefits for Part-Time roles: Pension matching
This position will remain open until January 9, 2026.
About the Venue:
The position will work primarily at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, BC, during most ticketed events.
Responsibilities:
- Controlling and monitoring entry to the parking lots
- Provide all guests a positive first impression
- Providing direction and supervision to a changing team of 8+ voluteers
- Monitoring parking lots for safety and security of guests and employees and vehicles
- Provide guests with directions and other venue information
- Direct guests and employees to available parking spaces
- Ability to maximize amount of vehicles per lot
- Respond to all comments/complaints in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
- Cash handling and maintain security of cash
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance during all scheduled shifts
Qualifications:
- Prior parking experience strongly preferred
- Customer service, cash handling, and point-of-sale abilities are a must
- Must be polite, friendly and possess excellent interpersonal skills as this position has extensive guest and employee contact
- Ability to multi-task
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license
- The ability to work various hours as needed including nights and weekends
- The physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances
- Ability to work outdoors with extreme heat and weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to organize and direct a small group of volunteers
- Ability to lift a maximum of 25 pounds
- Ability to visually observe the parking lots
