Pay Rate: $19.19/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Continental Rotation (0800-2000 / 2000-0800)
Overview Paladin Security is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Security Guard to join the team at University Health Network - West Park Healthcare in Toronto, ON. In this essential healthcare role, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position is ideal for security professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional service, promoting safety, and supporting hospital operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises, including entrances, parking areas, patient units, and restricted zones
- Monitor cameras, access control systems, and alarms; respond promptly to suspicious activity
- Control access to secure hospital areas and verify authorization
- Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, behavioral escalations, and fire alarms
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital personnel
- De-escalate difficult situations using approved techniques and sound judgment
- Prepare accurate daily activity reports and detailed incident reports
- Collaborate with hospital staff and emergency responders to maintain a safe environment
- Enforce hospital procedures, visitor protocols, and safety policies
Requirements
- Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- COVID-19 vaccination (minimum two doses)
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and Two-Step TB Skin Test
- N95 Mask Fit certification
- English fluency (oral and written)
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
