The School for Advanced Digital Technology (SADT) at SAIT is shaping the future of education and industry through technology-driven, hands-on programs. Focused on preparing learners to thrive in a rapidly evolving, globalized economy, SADT delivers cutting-edge learning experiences enhanced by strong industry connections and work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities The Film & Video Production Co-op Student will support SADT by contributing to applied and project-based work that enhances the student experience and advances the school’s academic, operational, and promotional objectives. Working under the guidance of academic leaders, operations team members and instructors, this role provides hands-on learning opportunities while supporting SADT initiatives through creative, technical, and operational contributions aligned with institutional priorities.
###How you'll contribute
- -Creative Planning & Pre-Production
- Support the development of creative video ideas and visual storytelling concepts aligned with SAIT branding and the objectives of the annual pitch competition.
- Engage in pre-production planning activities such as developing shot lists, schedules, and basic creative concepts under guidance from senior leaders.
- Collaborate with SADT management team, and other internal stakeholders to understand project goals, timelines, and expectations prior to production. -Video Production & On-Site Capture
- Participate in on-site video production during live events, capturing b-roll and behind-the-scenes footage as a one-person crew with guidance and direction as needed.
- Operate video production equipment, including camera systems, gimbal, basic lighting, and audio tools, while following established workflows and safety guidelines.
- Adapt to a live-event environment by remaining flexible, professional, and solutions-oriented while learning to manage changing conditions. -Post-Production & Media Delivery
- Assist with post-production tasks including video editing, pacing, basic color correction, sound balancing, and simple graphics integration.
- Prepare video files for distribution by exporting content for web and social media platforms in accordance with provided specifications.
- Support media management activities such as file organization, data management, and version control to ensure project materials are stored accurately and efficiently.
- Possible/Temporary Educational Technology Support

- Prior hands-on experience in video production and post-production.
- Team player in creative technologies, supporting student's engagement with technology.
