In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, our Project Management & Construction Organization (PMC) division is currently hiring for a Program Manager. This role will focus on performance improvement and lessons learned across the PMC division.
This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario.
What will you be responsible for ?
- Evaluates project/program status against established milestones and objectives by analyzing information presented. Measures performance, and takes the necessary corrective actions to maintain commitments
- Supports the Project Managers and their teams in resolving challenges affecting the successful execution of work. Listens and responds appropriately to concerns, developing solutions that become process improvements
- Interfaces regularly with the customer and stakeholders throughout the project/program lifecycle in order to ensure execution is in line with commitments and expectations
- Works with senior/line management in developing appropriate changes in such areas related to the application of appropriate business improvement tools and techniques; resource management; quality control over processes, programs and frameworks to achieve a business improvement culture with a commercial focus.
- Integration and Alignment with other Departments and Bruce Power Divisions
- Works with other senior managers to set overall strategy and objectives for the programs/projects
- Supports the development of and adherence to the Program Management Plan to manage and execute projects. Utilizes the tools provided to manage the program through key metrics such as Earned Value Management
- Anticipates problems and proactively consults with other managers in identifying issues that may hinder the success of a program/project. Develops strategies and presents solutions to affected groups for concurrence
- Builds strong cross-functional work relationships with other Bruce Power departments to continuously improve performance and to remove emergent challenges that may prevent the achievement of a key project milestone
- Represents the company in matters of program and project delivery as required at meetings, briefings, conferences, with external authorities as requested
- Develops and delivers written reports and formal presentations to the customer, stakeholders and regulators, on relevant matters specific to the program/projects and offers thoughtful responses to questions and concerns
- Attends Event Review Board presentations and Corrective Action Review Board meetings to ensure adherence to processes and procedures. Designs and improves initiatives to increase employee engagement. Leads the process for the Nuclear Safety Culture Monitoring Panel in the station.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Have a passion for excellence and have demonstrated a proven track record of accountability and success;
- Six Sigma training and Black Belt certification will be considered an asset;
- Candidates must have the ability and flexibility to take on a variety of roles and functions and be comfortable with ambiguity in their role
- Have solid experience advising, strategizing and communicating various business strategies
- Have consistently been a top performer, demonstrating a strong background in projects, and business, process or technical roles
- Be able to think analytically and be comfortable dealing with complex issues that require a logical approach
- Possess exceptional organizational and leadership abilities
Education and Experience:
- A 4-year university degree in Engineering or Business.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience of business experience with 3 years of experience within a leadership capacity.

Bruce Power is Canada's first private nuclear generator. Bruce Power's 2,300-acre site on the shores of Lake Huron houses the Bruce A and B generating stations, which each hold four CANDU reactors.
Over the past decade, Bruce Power has refurbished all four units at its Bruce A station, returning 3,000 megawatts of clean, low-cost electricity to Ontario consumers.
