Are you an operational leader with a passion for driving performance and efficiency in collections? LendCare is seeking a Director, Collections to oversee the execution of our collections strategy, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure optimal performance across our teams. Reporting to the Vice President, Portfolio Servicing, this role is critical in delivering strong recovery outcomes, maintaining compliance, and supporting workforce planning and resource optimization.
You’ll bring a hands-on leadership style, strong analytical capabilities, and a deep understanding of collections operations to lead a high-performing team and drive continuous improvement across the collections lifecycle.
What will you be doing?
- Overseeing daily operations across our collections portfolios, ensuring consistent execution and performance.
- Managing a large, distributed team across centralized call centres and remote locations, with a focus on coaching, engagement, and accountability.
- Driving workforce management strategies, including staffing models, scheduling, and productivity planning to meet service level and recovery targets.
- Implementing initiatives to improve recovery rates, reduce delinquency, and mitigate credit losses.
- Collaborating with internal partners to align collections efforts with broader portfolio goals.
- Using data and performance metrics to identify trends, optimize workflows, and support forecasting and resource planning.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including Canadian collections standards.
- Presenting operational insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
What experience do you have?
- 8+ years of leadership experience in collections, credit risk, or call centre operations (financial services experience preferred).
- Proven success managing large teams and delivering operational results in fast-paced environments.
- Strong understanding of workforce management principles and tools.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable operational strategies.
- Experience with centralized collections models and remote team structures.
- Knowledge of Canadian collections laws and compliance frameworks (an asset).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A university degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA or equivalent experience preferred).
This role requires on-site attendance at our LendCare office: 1315 Pickering Parkway, Pickering, ON
