Advisor, Marketing Manager [20 Month Contract]
About the role
Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Advisor Marketing for MD Financial Management in Canada, ensuring that core advisor-led campaign materials, collateral and creative initiatives are executed/ delivered in support of the broader team’s business strategies and objectives; and that advisor marketing delivery platforms are easily accessible for their core users and optimized to best support the business’ strategies and objectives. Responsible for populating platforms with content, working with partners across the MD and the Bank to amplify and highlight available thought leadership. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
In this role you will:
• Contributes to a client-focused culture, deepening client relationships by leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. • Ideates and drives both planned and ad hoc campaigns and their materials designed for advisor amplification, managing, and leading the delivery of these materials across multiple advisor marketing platforms, marketing channels, brands, and business lines within the MD Financial Management portfolio. • Manages and leads on the creative relationship with internal and external agencies, production, and copywriting services, in addition to vetting and maintaining a list of third party approved vendors for design and swag production. • Manages and develops marketing collateral materials and the Marketing Resource Centre to support Advisor Marketing activities, with a particular focus on producing once and then replicating across business lines/client segments. •Supports prospect acquisition opportunities and projects by executing on the delivery of the marketing needs of MD Advisors across Canada, and the growth of their business line, while measuring results effectively to determine success. • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and point of contact for training and onboarding of new Advisor users to the various platforms and systems which Advisor Marketing offers to the field, driving adoption and best practices for their use through this process, and measuring success through available analytics and KPIs. • Manages third party system/platform relationships and invoicing, with a particular focus on optimizing day-today processes and then replicating these learnings across business lines/client segments to achieve consistency and efficiency. • Ensures that marketing activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations (CIRO/IIROC/MFDA), internal policies, style guidelines, and procedures. • Develops and leverages key relationships across a network of trusted partners which include the business line management team, advisory panels, Marketing, Technology, Compliance, National Supervision, Legal and relevant vendors. • Advocates for the brand and ensures brand styling oversight is applied across Advisor initiatives to both protect the brand and raise awareness, while driving support and inclusion of each brand’s value proposition. • Champions a high-performance environment and demonstrates a commitment to Scotiabank’s values: accountability, passion, integrity, and respect. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
•A university or college degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or business administration and/or 5+ years of marketing experience •3+ years of experience with creative management processes (e.g. in-house design, agencies) •Excellent communication skills combined with effective relationship-building abilities •Understands the investment industry and compliance regulations and requirements •Effectively works autonomously, independently and with a strong ability to meet deadlines •Strong project management skills with ability to take initiative to ensure successful outcomes •Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence a variety of audiences to new points of view •Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment that can include varying skills/competencies. •Strong conceptual abilities and excellent perseverance to solve problems and adapt solutions across a wide range of prospect and client segments •Strong writing skills, experience in creative writing •Solid knowledge of creative studio design and production processes •Sound knowledge of marketing disciplines with experience in marketing planning, communications and branding •Proficiency in Microsoft suite, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred •Industry-related designations/courses: oCanadian Securities Course (CSC) oConduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) •Bilingual in English and French is an asset
Working Conditions
•Participate in a geographically diverse team in a remote/or on-site environment. Occasional domestic travel required, primarily between Toronto, where Scotiabank is headquartered, and Ottawa, where MD Financial is headquartered.
