About the role
The Cliff House Restaurant is our dining venue overlooking the Canyon Lookout. We offer guests great views of the surrounding rainforest, a large indoor/outdoor fireplace, and our West Coast classics inspired menu. The Restaurant Server is part of the Food and Beverage team, responsible for contributing to a positive experience guest experience in the restaurant. Main duties include, but are not limited to, a la carte dining service, cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, proper food handling procedures, up selling, following opening and closing procedures and providing a seamless Guest experience.
What You'll Do Responsible for full table service (order taking, food running and bussing tables) Prepare and deliver all food and beverages in a timely manner, follow wine service steps as needed Ensure quality assurance checks are completed in a timely manner Anticipate Guests’ needs and search for ways to increase Guest satisfaction Efficiently operate restaurant POS and complete cash-out at end of shift Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment Follow all HAACP and Food Safe requirements Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies Promote a safe work environment paying particular attention to food and beverage safety Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired, by alcohol, drugs or other causes What You'll Get Complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soda while on shift, when using your reusable cup 30% discount at Stanley's Bar & Grill and Prospect Point Café 30% discount on food & beverage items in The Cliff House Restaurant, Loggers' Grill, Beary Waffles, and The Cabin at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park 30% discount off regular-priced merchandise at The Trading Post Gift Store at Prospect Point Café and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park Guest passes for friends & family to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park Referral bonuses Employment & Family Assistance Program, offering five free online counselling sessions per topic for our staff Qualifications One (1) year of serving or hosting experience Must have Food Safe Level 1 certification Must have current Serving It Right certificate Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide experiences Guests are amazed by Strong communication skills, multilingual is considered an asset Considerations Ideal candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. These roles do require being able to stand for extended periods of time and being able lift up to 20lbs. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task during peak service. Ability to work in varied weather conditions such as heat and rain.
Starting wage for this role is $18.25 per hour plus gratuities. This is a seasonal, casual contract.
