As aSenior/Associate Environmental Scientist, Engineer, Geologist, or Technologist, you will join our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. The successful applicant will be 100% office-based and be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:
- Actively participate and drive Montrose’s strong safety culture
- Support the management of site assessment and remediation project scopes, timelines, budgets, and communication with clients and project related stakeholders
- Prepare and/or review technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports
- Work within a well-organized, and innovative culture with support systems that empower our professionals to focus on providing high quality solutions to our clients
- Transfer knowledge, share experiences, and support the training and mentorship of colleagues
- Be part of a technical practice community that supports team and personal innovation, and growth and success at all levels
What Are We Looking For:
- Technical diploma or degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years previous experience in a directly related role including experience managing and executing various site assessment and remediation projects
- Experience and assertiveness in driving scope, schedule and budget for a portfolio of complex projects
- Familiarity with preparing and reviewing technical reports, work plans, and cost estimates
- Experience with soil logging, sample collection, field screening, and sample selection
- Strong data evaluation skills and ability to make decisions based on findings
- Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Willingness to provide technical direction and active mentorship to junior professionals and project managers
- A member in good standing of a professional organization (e.g. AIA, ASET, APEGA) with a minimum of three (3) years experience reviewing and stamping technical reports
- Experience with various in-situ, ex-situ or thermal remediation technologies is an asset
- Experience with reviewing Phase 1 ESAs (commercial and/or oil and gas) is an asset
- Experience with the Alberta Energy Regulator’s OneStop tool and working knowledge of provincial regulatory frameworks in Western Canada is also an asset
- A valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions
