About the role
We’re looking for a Class 3 / Tandem Truck Driver to join our team. This role is vital to supporting our equipment operators and tradespeople by performing both driving and labouring activities that keep our projects moving safely and efficiently.
How You’ll Contribute
As a Class 3 / Tandem Truck Driver, you’ll combine skilled driving with hands-on labour. You’ll safely haul and operate gravel, water, and crane trucks, while also assisting crews with a wide range of construction activities. Your commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability will ensure smooth site operations and help deliver high-quality results.
What You’ll Get to Do

Safely haul gravel and materials using tandem, tri-drive, and box trucks/pups

Load, unload, and move construction materials across worksites
-
Assist equipment operators with attachments, spotting, and related activities
-
Perform tasks such as mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete or asphalt
-
Support pipe alignment and related activities during construction projects
-
Operate small tools and equipment including tampers, hammers, vibrators, and compressors
-
Erect and dismantle forms, ramps, scaffolding, shoring, and barricades as needed
-
Perform site clean-up including debris removal and chemical spill response
-
Conduct accurate daily pre- and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers
-
Complete daily FLHA reports and timecards, and participate in toolbox meetings
-
Perform preventative maintenance, fueling, and routine servicing of assigned trucks and trailers
-
Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle, inside and out, with daily removal of garbage
-
Return vehicle keys/fobs to the shop board at the end of each shift

Direct traffic near construction zones when required

Use all mandatory personal protective equipment and follow MacKay safety policies

Take on additional duties as assigned
Who You Are
You’re an experienced driver who values safety and precision. You’re comfortable in both the cab and on the ground, willing to lend a hand wherever needed. You thrive in fast-paced environments, take initiative, and support your crew with a positive attitude.
You have:
- A valid Class 3 or 1 driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Commercial and/or off-road Class 3 driving experience
- A strong commitment to safety and the ability to drive in all weather conditions
- Effective verbal communication and listening skills, including the ability to follow and give directions using hand signals
- The ability to complete accurate written reports and paperwork
- Knowledge of basic truck maintenance and preventative servicing
- A positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Good physical condition, able to handle up to 23kg (50 lbs)
- Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime when required
- The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
