Annual salary: 1,792.24 - $2,257.45 biweekly

Students invited to interview will receive more detail of the specific position(s) the student is being considered for during the
interview.
The location for most of the positions for this co-op postings is in the Vancouver or Burnaby Lower Mainland area BC.
As a Co op Student, you will support the department with records management, document control, and process
improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and file engineering records, both digital and physical, and support the development of filing procedures where
needed.

Perform quality control checks on both hard copy and digital files.

Apply naming conventions, metadata, and filing standards to support document retrieval and compliance.

Support centralized, cloud based document management and filing structures.
-
Support document rationalization and organization activities, including version verification, duplicate identification, and
alignment to filing standards.

Assist with tools used for project, document, resource assignment and records tracking.
-
Support workflow automation for document routing, approvals, notifications, and updates.
-
Support reporting and tracking related to engineering records and project documentation.
-
Draft and update process flowcharts, workflows, and procedural documentation.
-
Assist with documentation, user guides, and training materials for records and process workflows.

Collaborate with team members to coordinate document management activities and support consistent records and
process practices.
What you bring
- To qualify as a candidate, individual's must be enrolled and yet to graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution in
Canada.
- Minimum 2nd year students currently enrolled in Information Management (e.g. Library and Information Studies, Archival
Studies, Information Studies), Information Technology, Computer Science program or related field.

Strong working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, etc.)

Working knowledge of MS Collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint Cloud, List, Power Automate, Power BI, etc.) is an
asset.

Interest in document management, process improvement, automation, or data tracking.

Strong communication skills, highly motivated and results oriented.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-
Good written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What we offer
- As a condition of employment at BC Hydro, a background check clearance will be required. This may include: reference
checks, education verification, employment verification, criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and
alcohol test.

Some roles may require a valid Class 5 Drivers License.

All positions will be hired first as a four month work term. For some positions, there is opportunity to extend, to eight
months.
- Students are expected to work at the job location for their co-op role and it is the student’s responsibility to relocate
themselves if necessary.

Flexible work model role definitions:
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home based on the type of work
they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for each position and the operational requirements.
Employees also have the right to work full-time from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person
time.
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
