Join us at WT! We are currently seeking an Accounting Team Lead to join our Vancouver team in our Accounting department. This position is for a team player who is proactive with a strong work ethic, can handle a busy workload, and who has a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have a background in people and process management, strong client service focus, the ability to multi-task, have solid analytical and organizational skills, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage a national team of AP clerks, ensuring proper onboarding, mentoring, and performance management
- Oversee trust and client disbursements functions and personnel
- Annual trust filing, T3 and CDIC reporting
- Bank and trust reconciliations
- Posting month end journal entries
- Assisting with employee reimbursements and credit card reconciliations
- Other duties as required
What will help you succeed in this role?
- 5 years+ of experience in an accounting role with a focus on AP (accounts payable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management, or related field
- 2+ years of leadership experience in overseeing administrative processes and ensuring quality control would be an asset
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively, provide clear instructions, and foster an environment for open communication and clarifying questions
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with a focus on guiding and motivating teams
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, with a leadership approach that encourages collaboration and efficiency
- Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment and with trust management is a strong asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) at an advanced level
- Resourceful and proactive in problem-solving, capable of leading teams through challenges
- Quick learner, adept at adapting to new software, processes, and programs, and capable of training team members
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Enthusiastic about taking on new challenges and leading with a positive, can-do attitude
- Professional demeanor in communicating with stakeholders, clients, and team members
- Exceptional organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities, and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the legal industry and knowledge of Elite 3E an asset.
What we offer
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 per annum, dependent on years/relevance of individual experience.
