THE OPPORTUNITY

**The Student Assistant – Information Systems and Technology (IST)**is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users experiencing computer hardware, software, or network related issues. They will assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems and will provide user training for front line applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. The Student Assistant-IST will also assist with the implementation of projects within the division, as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and experience with using Microsoft word and excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft 365 products is an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a willingness to contribute and lead in the culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events for clients and their families/caregivers, colleagues, other community members and yourself.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information and situations.
  • Must be enrolled and/or intending to enroll in post-secondary education during the academic year.

Certification/Registration/Membership

  • A+, Sec+, Net+ certification an asset.

Successful applicants will be required to provide:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
  • A valid class G Ontario driver’s licence and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on Agency vehicle insurance policy
  • Clear Police Record Check

Preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates
