LVM Quality Assurance Staff Specialist
About the role
Description Position Description: The Quality Assurance Staff Specialist plays a key role in supporting program delivery by overseeing quality assurance activities across the contract lifecycle. As a member of The Power Team at GDLS-C, this role is responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System, ensuring contractual quality requirements are met, and supporting successful program delivery throughout the contract lifecycle. Working closely with internal teams, partners, and the customer, this role drives continuous improvement, supports inspection and acceptance activities, and ensures consistent quality standards across all delivery locations.
Key Job Elements
- Manage the Quality Assurance Program on the Logistics Vehicle Modernization (LVM) Program Contract.
- Act as the Quality Lead in all Contracts / Customer discussions
- Work directly with the LVM Program Management Team to ensure successful contract execution throughout the contract lifecycle
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Program Plan to ensure products and services meet contractual requirements.
- Work with the Program Team and external partners to implement quality processes across all delivery locations.
- Lead the development and approval of policies and procedures supporting the program's Quality Management System (e.g.: non-conformance management, manufacturing waivers, recall processes, etc.)
- Provide direction to the Power Team Partners/Subcontractors in the development and execution of their Quality Management Systems for the LVM Contract
- Provide support and guidance for the development and execution of Quality Conformance Testing at all location
- Lead the development of the Quality Conformance Inspection document for use in capability acceptance
- Develop Customer Inspection and Acceptance Procedures at each Capability delivery location
- Facilitate Customer Inspection and Acceptance of the first units of each capability (First Article Inspection)
- Facilitate ongoing Customer Inspection and Acceptance activities (Factory Acceptance Verification and Factory Acceptance Detailed Verification)
- Respond to Customer concerns in a collaborative partnership environment
- Convene periodic reviews/forums with all Partners and DND to address areas of concern in a proactive manner
Required Qualifications
- University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering or Business Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years Quality Assurance experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or regulated environment
- Demonstrated experience supporting or implementing QMS and quality assurance processes
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, suppliers, or subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality requirements
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners
- Ability to analyze quality issues, support root cause investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. .
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to travel approximately 20% within Canada and internationally and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a manufacturing or complex production environment
- University degree in Engineering or Business
- Experience working in a contract-based program environment
