About the role
Job Summary:
Performs bookkeeping duties such as coding, recording, posting and processing day-to-day transactions. Processes one or more of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. Maintains and updates accounting records.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Prepare financial information and reports on a monthly, quarterly, annually and ad hoc basis, for management and/or regulatory authorities

Compile, analyze, and reconcile financial accounts and records, and identify and resolve discrepancies or problems and/or recommend solutions
-
Ensure all accounting entries are entered accurately and in a timely manner; maintain and recommend improvements to reporting and internal control procedures
-
Assist with the development of appropriate action plans for the resolution of discrepancies and potential problems
-
Assist with the preparation of regulatory filings
-
Understand and compile statistics reporting
-
Coordinate with other units/departments to ensure financial data and systems are updated in a timely manner and to improve productivity and customer service
-
Maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external business contacts
-
Provide technical guidance and assistance to other staff members
-
General office support as needed, such as coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling, agenda management, ordering office supplies, overseeing the work of various suppliers, etc.;
-
Participating in special projects, as needed;
-
Other related tasks.
Qualification:
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
