Quality Control Inspector (QC Inspector)
About the role
Quality Control Inspector Calgary, AB | Full-Time | Permanent We are partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturing organization that has recently launched a high-volume production facility in Calgary. As the operation scales, they are adding a Quality Control Inspector to support production through hands-on inspection, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented inspector who enjoys being on the production floor, working closely with machinists and manufacturing teams, and ensuring product quality from first article through final inspection.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured components
- Prepare and set up inspection equipment prior to use
- Verify part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Conduct first article inspections on all product runs
- Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for parts that do not meet specifications
- Identify, segregate, and clearly label nonconforming parts
- Assist in maintaining the NCR area, ensuring parts are properly identified and documented
- Identify tools requiring calibration and perform calibration of measurement instruments
- Coordinate closely with assembly, manufacturing, and shipping/receiving teams
- Track and identify needs for inspection-related consumables
- Perform basic administrative tasks (emails, photocopying, printing)
- Support other quality and production initiatives as assigned
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a Quality Control or Inspection role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret part drawings and GD&T
- Hands-on experience using a variety of manual inspection tools
- Experience with specialized measuring equipment is an asset, including:
- Surface Finish Gauge
- Wall Thickness Gauge
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-focused environment
