Manager of Partnerships, Intergovernmental & Public Relations
Term Position (18 Months)
(Salary Range $116,100 - $133,500 per year)

Under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), you will be responsible for developing and recommending policies, programs, and services which reflect the vision and strategic priorities of the City.

This role supports the CAO by developing and negotiating meaningful partnerships and agreements with local First Nations and other levels of government, provincial and federal agencies, local community stakeholders and not-for-profit organizations. Additionally, you’ll provide leadership and advice on the development and implementation of various communications and marketing strategies.

This is a high-profile role that requires significant political acumen, cultural sensitivity and discretion. A skilled relationship-builder and negotiator, you have a successful track record of developing and implementing long-term corporate and communications strategies and collaborating with inter-disciplinary teams to create opportunities. You are self-motivated, highly organized, and thrive in an environment characterized by teamwork, creative problem solving and multiple priorities.

Ideally you hold a post-secondary diploma or degree in Communications, Business, Public Administration, or a related field along with at least five years of recent, progressively responsible experience in public relations or public administration. Previous supervisory experience, preferably gained in a unionized workplace, is required, and local government experience is a definite asset.

The successful applicant must be willing to relocate to Powell River; relocation assistance is available.
