About the role
Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Technical Support Specialist, Point of Sale (POS) on a temporary basis (up to 22 months) on our Home and Building Solutions (HABS) team. This position is a remote opportunity and can be based across Western Canada.
Are you someone with strong communication, development and coaching skills? If you can work independently but also collaborate with a team, we are looking for someone to support our Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) with the Mi9 Point of Sale and BI platform as we strive for continuous improvement and innovative measures to help build Western Canada.
What you’ll do:
- Identify and address Mi9 platform business operations deficiencies by collaborating with IT, Zone OAs, and Mi9 Corporate to plan, prioritize, develop, and release enhancements, while serving as a system expert providing advanced support, training, and strategic integration guidance.
- Serve as the escalation point and business lead for complex service desk incidents, overseeing Mi9 POS Support ownership and timely resolution while delivering end ‑ user–focused support, advanced training, and resource development across FCL’s System Support platform for the HABS business.
- Develop and lead operating processes, reporting, and training materials to enable effective and consistent use of the Mi9 system across retail and the CRS, driving best practices and efficiency.
- Lead the creation and delivery of training, resources, and recommended procedures—including enhancements, follow ‑ up training, and support documentation—while ensuring alignment with operational policies and plans.
- Support the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement in roadmap development and functional integration of HABS ‑ related technologies, including e ‑ commerce, JDE, item management, B2B Portals and internal AI agents. Lead analysis of issue metrics to identify Mi9 driven business improvement opportunities, collaborate with stakeholders to enable evolutions, prioritize enhancements and serve the retail locations in their continued success.

The Team: You will work closely with the Mi9 support team and business performance specialist to provide retail driven support on the Mi9 platform and will report into the Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement HABS. This team strives to cultivate a culture of customer focus, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Operations and :
- Have a bachelor’s degree in business (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Have 3-6 years of relevant experience in retail sales preferably in the home and building supplies industry.
- Have 3-6 years in business experience with a strong acumen in analysis, development, technology and reporting would be an asset.
- Mi9 Point of Sale system experience would be considered an asset.
- Strong MS Suite skillset would be an asset.
This opportunity is a Band 5 position and falls within the Professional Services career stream.
