Position Summary We are currently seeking a bookkeeper to join our Insolvency and Restructuring team. You will be primarily responsible for all tax filings for our clients and liaising with CRA. The Bookkeeper reports to the Finance Manager and works closely with a trust accountant.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly HST remittance for all estates
  • Maintain HST filing schedules
  • Prepare documentation for HST audits and Payroll Trust examinations
  • Open and close HST business numbers for the estates
  • Communicate with CRA on various business accounts matters
  • Prepare T2 short corporate tax returns
  • Additional duties as required

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 years of related experience
  • Post-secondary education in accounting (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing, fun and fast-paced environment
  • Experience with insolvency software (Ascend preferred)
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Quick-books and Excel
  • Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
  • Assertive, comfortable communicating with various types of individuals
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis

  • Experience in accounting an asset
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Advanced Excel and Office 365
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is a requirement
