About the role

Looking to grow your career in the oil sands industry? We’re hiring a detail-oriented, numbers-savvy Project Coordinator to support dynamic, project-based operations in Fort McMurray.

This role is based at our office across from the Suncor Base Plant and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates well with diverse teams, and enjoys keeping projects organized and moving forward.

What You’ll Do

As the key liaison between internal teams, clients, and project leadership, you’ll help ensure projects run smoothly from planning to completion.

Finance Support

  • Verify timecards and review labor, equipment, and materials sheets

  • Submit documentation and support purchase orders with the finance team

Project & Administrative Coordination

  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, and filing systems

  • Book travel (flights, hotels, itineraries) for project staff

  • Manage office supplies and internal forms

  • Schedule and dispatch project employees

  • Track site orientations and rental equipment returns

  • Provide daily activity and project summary reports

Operations & Communication

  • Coordinate communication between internal teams and external stakeholders

  • Support workforce and material scheduling with approved resources

  • Promote a customer-focused environment with positive, timely communication

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards

  • Conduct daily Field Level Risk Assessments and report hazards

What We’re Looking For

  • Fast learner with strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable working with Excel and numbers

  • Ability to pivot quickly in a project-based environment

  • Approachable with excellent interpersonal skills — able to work with people at all levels

  • Strong organization, planning, and problem-solving skills

  • High sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience with oil sands projects (especially industrial marine environments with a focus on dewatering and dredging)

  • NCSO designation, or

  • Mechanical EIT – Recent grad

Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Strong written and verbal English communication

  • Ability to manage change in a fast-paced environment

  • Provide a Clean Criminal Record Check

  • Pass pre-employment and required drug, and alcohol testing and functional fitness assessments

  • Valid drivers license with 3 year acceptable drivers abstract

  • Reliable vehicle to commute to and from the office located 23 minutes north of Fort McMurray, AB

Work Environment

  • Office-based role inFort McMurray

  • Hours of work are Monday - Friday 7:30-4:00pm

  • Primarily desk work with computer use throughout the day

  • Occasional walking, standing, and light lifting
