The Role
As a key leader within our Strategic Projects team in the Technical Services department, you will be responsible for the leadership, oversight and delivery of a portfolio of high‑value, complex mining programs and studies across the organization. Operating from our corporate office in Saskatoon, you will partner closely with site operations, technical specialists, and external engineering partners to ensure alignment, quality execution, and effective integration of owner-side requirements. This role has significant scope and visibility, supporting large-scale mining initiatives.
In this role, you will:

Lead, manage, and govern a portfolio of major mining projects and studies, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, risk, and cost performance across the full lifecycle.

Operate as the owner’s representative, providing direction, oversight, and integration across multiple internal technical groups, consultants, and external engineering partners.
-
Champion program governance, decision-making frameworks, and consistent execution practices across all assigned projects.

Develop strong, trust-based relationships with operational leaders, corporate functions, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders.

Support strategic planning, project prioritization, and alignment of technical programs with business objectives.
-
Ensure program-level risks, interfaces, and dependencies are well understood, managed, and communicated to leadership.
-
Strengthen organizational capability by applying modern project delivery techniques, , and digital project tools.

Provide guidance and mentorship to project managers and technical leads to support successful program execution.
Required:
-
diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field;
-
minimum 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including significant involvement in large-scale mining, industrial, or manufacturing projects;
-
equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
-
proven experience working on the owner side of major mining projects, including oversight of consultants and engineering partners;
-
demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives with creativity, sound judgment, and a solutions-focused mindset;
-
ability to build trust and positive relationships with internal and external partners in dynamic and challenging environment;
-
strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority; and
-
occasional travel to site locations by aircraft when required.
Recommended:
-
PMP certification, professional engineering designation, or other relevant professional credentials (or ability to obtain);
-
experience executing all stages of the project lifecycle, from initiation and study development through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations integration;
-
direct experience with underground mining operations or brownfield industrial environments;
-
familiarity with modern digital project management platforms and LEAN/continuous improvement methodologies; and
-
experience operating in a corporate environment with regular site interface and travel.
