2 – Your missions
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Process Engineer to support the refurbishment activities at Pickering Nuclear Generating Station . This is a site-based role , focused on managing mechanical process equipment and coordinating design modification requests arising from field feedback during refurbishment and construction activities.
The successful candidate will act as a key interface between the site, engineering teams, and design authorities, ensuring that mechanical process systems are updated safely, efficiently, and in compliance with nuclear requirements.
- Provide on-site engineering support for mechanical process systems and equipment during refurbishment activities.
- Manage mechanical process equipment , including pumps, heat exchangers, piping systems, valves, and associated components.
- Review, assess, and manage design change requests (DCNs / ECNs) originating from site feedback, construction issues, or operational constraints.
- Translate field observations and issues into engineering design modifications , ensuring technical accuracy and traceability.
- Interface with design engineering teams, safety, licensing, and configuration management.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, quality assurance, and configuration control processes .
- Support walkdowns, inspections, and resolution of field issues.
- Review and approve technical documentation, calculations, and updated drawings (PFDs, P&IDs).
- Support commissioning and return-to-service activities as required.
- Participate in technical reviews and site meetings.
3 – Who You Are
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering .
- Experience as a Mechanical Process Engineer in industrial or power generation environments.
- Nuclear experience preferred , particularly in refurbishment or life-extension projects.
- Strong understanding of process systems and mechanical equipment .
- Experience managing design modifications in a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with site-based engineering support and construction interfaces.
- Must be eligible for Canadian Nuclear Security Clearance .
- Experience working on CANDU nuclear facilities or refurbishment programs.
- Knowledge of nuclear mechanical codes and standards (ASME, CSA, RCC-M).
