Insight Global is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Enterprise Platform Engineering team for a leading Vancouver-based retailer. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing, operating, and scaling enterprise DevOps platforms, including GitLab SaaS, Terraform Cloud, and CI/CD automation. You will partner with platform, security, and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient engineering solutions while advancing the adoption of AI-assisted development practices across the software lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Own and manage GitLab SaaS and Terraform Cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance with security and SSDLC standards Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, runners, templates, and shared platform components Develop and champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices through reusable modules, guardrails, and policy-as-code frameworks Implement and operate GitOps workflows while automating provisioning, access management, and platform lifecycle processes Integrate AI-assisted capabilities into CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, incident response, and operational workflows with appropriate governance and controls Drive platform reliability through observability, monitoring, metrics, and on-call support Analyze platform performance and usage trends to identify optimization opportunities and influence platform roadmaps Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, standards, and reference architectures Enable engineering teams through self-service tooling, automation, templates, office hours, demos, and community-of-practice initiatives Required Skills & Experience Technical Expertise Deep hands-on experience with GitLab SaaS and Terraform Cloud, including CI/CD, infrastructure management, governance, and platform metrics Strong expertise with Kubernetes, AWS (or comparable cloud platforms), and distributed systems Proven experience implementing Platform Engineering, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices at enterprise scale Strong understanding of software supply chain security, including artifact governance, vulnerability management, and provenance Experience with policy-as-code solutions such as OPA/Rego or Sentinel Hands-on experience integrating AI-assisted tools and workflows within software engineering environments Qualifications 10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles Proven ownership of business-critical production platforms with high availability and security requirements Demonstrated success driving automation, reliability improvements, and developer productivity initiatives Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, product, and security teams Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing platform strategy within large-scale organizations
