About the role
Overview The Geotechnical team includes more than 80 employees who, in recent years, have participated in major projects such as the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, and the development of Quebec's battery industry.
Your Role
- Monitor drilling and trench excavation work for geotechnical and environmental exploration;
- Collect and describe soil, rock, and groundwater samples;
- Perform surveying using GPS and/or level;
- Use specialized equipment such as geo-camera, inflatable packers, dilatometer, pressuremeter, vane shear tester, and others;
- Draft and complete various site reports;
- Report technical issues to the project manager or coordinator;
- Comply with current safety measures.
About You
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) in environment, civil engineering, mineral technology, or a university degree in geology or equivalent;
- Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience;
- Knowledge in soil identification;
- Able to communicate in French (oral and written) and English* (oral is an asset);
- Hold an ASP Construction safety card;
- Knowledge of measuring instruments used on site;
- Be in good physical condition;
- Available to work different shifts;
- Available to travel frequently, including to remote areas;
- Hold a valid driver's license in Quebec.
- This position requires knowledge of another language besides French, namely English, as you will be part of a Canadian, global, or regional management team and will need to collaborate with colleagues outside Quebec.
