The Crossing Guard is responsible for the safe crossing of students to and from the Schools.Benefits and Perks Optional OMERS Pension Plan from the date of hire Work-life Balance Initiatives Wellness, Social and Staff Ambassador Committees Employee and Family Assistance Plan Perks and Savings Partnerships Compensation $18.79 to $20.39 per hour Position Seasonal contract - end of August 2026 to end of June 2027 Scheduled as needed
Qualifications
Some High school education Work experience in similar trusted position and or working with youth preferred Responsibilities Attend and provide safe crossing services at the crossing location assigned and for the duration of the period assigned Present in a courteous, polite and professional manner in all interactions Document and submit all hours worked/absent bi-weekly by the Friday before pay day or as advised by the Supervisor, Transit or designate Notify the Supervisor, Transit or designate forty eight (48) hours in advance of a planned absence or within one (1) hour of an unplanned absence which has resulted from an illness or emergency so that alternate coverage of the crossing may be arranged Provide services in a professional and appropriate manner; no smoking while on duty and must not attend work when intoxicated or under the influence of medication which would impair ability to provide safe services. Maintain a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance and wear the safety attire provided at all times Report all unsafe conditions in regards to crossing location or equipment to the Supervisor, Transit or designate Complete all required training as requested Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Transit Skills and Abilities Health and Safety knowledge would be an asset.

Valid and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check Outside - exposure to all weather conditions.
