Job Overview
Develop new business, maintain existing accounts, and coordinate sales and catering activities to drive hotel revenue while ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and grow relationships with corporate, social, association, and SMERFE clients
- Actively prospect and qualify new business opportunities
- Negotiate room rates, event space, and catering packages within approved guidelines
- Prepare and review contracts, banquet/catering event orders, and proposals
- Collaborate with all hotel departments to ensure smooth execution of events
- Conduct site inspections, attend client meetings, and provide on-site support during events
- Track sales, monitor bookings, and provide forecasts and reports to management
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, conventions, and community events
- Contribute to sales action plans, marketing initiatives, and revenue strategies
- Maintain accurate client files and ensure follow-ups for repeat business
Qualifications and Requirements
- College education plus 1–2 years of sales or catering-related experience, or equivalent
- Knowledge of hotel and food & beverage operations preferred
- Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for client meetings, trade shows, and conventions
Physical Requirements & Other Skills
- Frequent standing and moving within and outside the facility
- Use of computer and phone for communication, reporting, and presentations
- Basic math, budgeting, and forecasting skills
- Problem-solving, reasoning, and team leadership abilities
