Community Dietitian (Youth and Family Wellness)

One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.

We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our newly formed Inter Professional Care Team (IPCT). This position will play a key role in providing culturally appropriate nutrition education, individual counselling, and group-based programming to Black and racialized youth and families. The Dietitian will also contribute to food access advocacy, community engagement, and program development, supporting clients at risk of or living with diet-related chronic conditions.

The position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan and an excellent group health benefit package.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, with completion of a Dietitians of Canada accredited dietetic internship.
  • Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • Membership with Dietitians of Canada is an asset.
  • Experience working with Black, Indigenous, newcomer, uninsured, and other underserved youth and families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of health and systemic barriers to wellness.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, group facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in community-based program planning and delivery.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Lived experience and applicants who identify as Black, Indigenous, racialized, immigrant, 2SLGBTQIA+, or with a disability are encouraged to apply.
