Temporary Full-Time Summer Maintenance Staff - Arcola Maintenance Shop (OOS)
About the role
South East Cornerstone Public School Division is seeking applicants to fill two summer maintenance positions based out of our Arcola Maintenance Shop location. The summer maintenance staff will work in conjunction with the Facilities Department staff in order to complete all regular day-to-day duties as it relates to the grass cutting and maintenance/repair of school division property.
Term Start Date: May 4, 2026 or as mutually agreed upon
End Date: August 28, 2026
Duties And Responsibilities Include
- Maintain the schools and division property grounds in a clean and attractive condition
- Experience and/or ability to operate equipment such as deck mowers, tillers, tow trailers
- Able to do basic service/maintain equipment through regular preventative maintenance
- Assist Technicians with projects such as minor maintenance, painting, furniture moving, tree trimming, warehouse/shop cleaning, etc.
- Develop and maintain a positive working rapport with School Administration, staff and general public
- Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to an educational institution that provides services to children
- Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Facilities Foreman
- Perform duties as per the SECPSD and Facilities Department policies and procedures and safety program
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team
- Employees must be physically fit and able to handle various tasks involving lifting, bending, twisting, turning, and climbing
- Present a positive attitude and professional approach
Required Education, Knowledge, Qualification and Experience:
- Minimum of Grade 12 diploma from a recognized educational institute
- A current and valid Driver's License
- Any knowledge of building systems, trades and materials including plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring and grounds keeping is considered an asset
