About the role
Assignment:
- Full-time 1.0 FTE probationary teaching position.
- Mathematics and Science within a Grade 10-12 outreach school setting
- Duties to commence August 26, 2026 and will continue for the remainder of the 2026/2027 school year
Qualifications:
- Experience working in an outreach school setting would be considered an asset
- Strong Mathematics and Science background (please include any relevant courses/experience and comfortability with specific course loads within your application)
- Ability to use module based, one-to-one instructional practices to assist students in course completion
- Ability to formulate strong and healthy relationships with students from at-risk scenarios
- Strong foundational knowledge background and experiences as they pertain to First Nations, Metis and Inuit students
- Ability to support students with high social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs
- Strong practical understanding of alternative educational practices
- Strong trauma-informed pedagogy
- Ability to develop ongoing plans for individualized student success
- Growth mindset and will embody a strength-based approach
- Ability to work one-on-one with students who work at their own pace
- Flexible in how to plan and program for students in a junior and senior high school
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, guardians, and outside agencies
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth
