About the role

Are you ready to lead the future of financial risk intelligence? As the Director, Quantitative Analytics and Strategic Enablement, you will spearhead the transformation of market & liquidity risk management across by leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI). You will lead the implementation of digital enablement solutions that enhance market, liquidity and credit risk oversight, and ensure model governance.

This role is pivotal in executing strategic digital enablement roadmap for Group Financial Risk, embedding intelligence-led capabilities into operational workflows, and driving measurable impact across the organization.

The Director, Quantitative Analytics and Strategic Enablement, will report jointly to the AVP, Quantitative Analytics and AVP, Financial Risk Digital Enablement. This role plays a key role in advancing the transformation mission and vision for Group Financial Risk. This role supports the strategic evolution of risk management by harnessing the power of data, technology, and advanced analytics, including artificial intelligence (AI), to drive proactive, intelligence-led decision-making across the enterprise. Key responsibilities include delivering various financial risk management capabilities including but not limited to advanced analytics, quantitative modeling, financial risk reporting, automation, and other related activities. The director will also contribute to the development and execution of the relevant roadmaps and plans for the Financial Risk function.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will execute the vision for enhanced market and liquidity analytics within Group Financial Risk. Lead cross-functional initiatives to embed intelligence-led risk capabilities across business units. Oversee the development and implementation of the Financial Risk Data Modernization roadmap, aligning with enterprise risk strategy.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and deploy ML/AI models for market risk forecasting, anomaly detection, and stress testing.
  • Build scalable, automated monitoring systems and pipelines using Python, SQL, and cloud-native tools to ensure reliability and early risk detection.
  • Lead the development of advanced financial models across asset classes to enhance valuation, pricing, capital, and risk reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process optimization in risk and intelligence functions, including enterprise-wide data collection and analysis.
  • Ensure high-quality, reliable data in the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) to support robust AI and risk analytics.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to optimize ETL processes, data pipelines, and documentation. Champion innovation at the intersection of risk, technology, and advanced analytics.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and model development frameworks.

  • Solid understanding of financial risk instruments and modelling, financial risk management principles, and accounting frameworks in financial services/insurance.

  • Deep understanding of Financial Reporting lifecycle, including driver of earnings, asset and liability movement attribution, and other financial risk monitoring activities.

  • Skilled in data architecture, database design, ETL processes, visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and UI/UX principles for financial data.

  • Experience with model governance, regulatory compliance, and risk frameworks.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communicator and collaborator with proven stakeholder engagement.

  • Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable with dynamic, ad hoc environments.

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in

    Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from

    various provinces outside of Quebec

Salary range is expected to be between

$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD
