  • 3-5 years of M&A experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital—ideally within the software or tech sectors
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and business case development skills

  • A strategic mindset, with sound judgment and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Adept at building trust and collaboration across functions and external partners
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed

What the job involves

  • As Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions at OpenText, you’ll be a key contributor to the company’s inorganic growth strategy across a $200B+ total addressable market
  • As part of the Corporate Development team, you’ll help identify and execute high-impact acquisitions that fuel innovation, expand our global footprint, and strengthen our competitive edge
  • Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll support end-to-end deal execution, sourcing, diligence, negotiation, and integration, while building strong relationships both internally and across the M&A ecosystem
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of public and private company acquisitions across OpenText’s global portfolio
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis, assisting in maintaining a robust pipeline of acquisition targets in collaboration with business unit leaders
  • Coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes with internal and external experts and stakeholders (Legal, Finance, HR, Tech, etc.)
  • Support the negotiation of key deal terms and structures across various transaction types and sizes
  • Build financial models and analytical frameworks to support executive decision-making
  • Identify and communicate deal risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies
  • Support M&A governance processes and prepare materials for senior leadership and board review
  • Participate in post-merger integration planning and execution alongside cross-functional teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with external advisors, including investment banks, private equity and venture capital firms
