What the job involves
- As Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions at OpenText, you’ll be a key contributor to the company’s inorganic growth strategy across a $200B+ total addressable market
- As part of the Corporate Development team, you’ll help identify and execute high-impact acquisitions that fuel innovation, expand our global footprint, and strengthen our competitive edge
- Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll support end-to-end deal execution, sourcing, diligence, negotiation, and integration, while building strong relationships both internally and across the M&A ecosystem
- Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of public and private company acquisitions across OpenText’s global portfolio
- Conduct market and competitive analysis, assisting in maintaining a robust pipeline of acquisition targets in collaboration with business unit leaders
- Coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes with internal and external experts and stakeholders (Legal, Finance, HR, Tech, etc.)
- Support the negotiation of key deal terms and structures across various transaction types and sizes
- Build financial models and analytical frameworks to support executive decision-making
- Identify and communicate deal risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies
- Support M&A governance processes and prepare materials for senior leadership and board review
- Participate in post-merger integration planning and execution alongside cross-functional teams
- Build and maintain relationships with external advisors, including investment banks, private equity and venture capital firms
