Term Part-Time Position - (0.5 FTE)
March 9, 2026 - August 14, 2026
This position is at the L09 level with an hourly pay range of $45.62 - $60.93
(PIPSC Bargaining Unit)
Reporting to the Manager of the Ambulatory Care Program, this position is responsible for providing nutrition care to Yukon Hospital Corporations’ (YHC) patients, residents and clients as per established policies and procedures.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Knowledge of chronic disease management principles;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Six (6) months experience in clinical dietetics (seen as an asset);
- Ability to assess, plan, organize and deliver clinical nutrition care to patients, residents and clients in a timely manner;
- Ability to assess and advise patients, residents or clients on required behavioral changes as they relate to diet and nutrition;
- Ability to assess, plan, organize and monitor Enteral Nutrition and Parenteral Nutrition;
- Ability to instruct patients/residents/clients, families and groups in nutrition and lifestyle modifications for therapeutic nutrition and management of disease conditions;
- Knowledge and/or experience in counselling eating disorders and pediatric nutrition (seen as asset)
- Ability to mentor and evaluate dietetic interns (seen as an asset);
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and to think critically;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as a member of the interdisciplinary team;
- Ability to effectively use computers and Microsoft Office software applications including a computerized patient information system;
- Ability to organize workload, set priorities and work with minimal supervision;
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity;
- Ability to work in both English and French (seen as an asset).
The successful candidate is required to have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with a major in dietetics or equivalent; Completion of a dietetic internship program; Registration with a provincial dietetic regulatory body including Restricted Activity A (Compound or dispense therapeutic diets where nutrition is administered through enteral means) and Restricted Activity B (design therapeutic diets where nutrition is administered through parenteral means) if applicable; An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
