About The Team The Focus Categories – Fashion team is responsible for building innovative, high-impact experiences that power how millions of users discover, evaluate, and purchase fashion on eBay.
Fashion is a strategic priority for eBay — spanning sneakers, luxury, streetwear, pre-loved apparel, and emerging trends. Our mission is to develop modern, personalized, and reliable shopping journeys that differentiate eBay in a competitive marketplace.
We build scalable, modular Android features that integrate deeply with eBay’s buyer ecosystem — search, recommendations, authenticity guarantees, structured data, and personalization systems.
What You’ll Do
As An SW3 Android Engineer, You Will
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality native Android features using Kotlin
- Translate product and design requirements into clean, scalable, testable production code
- Contribute to modular architecture with loosely coupled, reusable components
- Implement modern Android design patterns (MVVM, MVI, unidirectional data flow)
- Write unit tests and automation tests for shipped features
- Participate actively in code reviews and raise engineering quality across the team
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Backend, Data, and Platform teams
- Propose multiple technical design approaches with tradeoffs and effort estimates
- Debug production issues using monitoring and observability tools
- Improve performance, reliability, and crash-free metrics
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the org
This role requires strong ownership of features from design through launch and iteration.
What You Bring
- 4+ years of professional experience in native Android development
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin, including coroutines, lambdas, flows, and advanced language features
- Experience with modern Android architecture components
- Experience building modularized Android applications
- Familiarity with dependency management (Gradle, Artifactory)
- Understanding of memory management and performance optimization
- Experience with unit testing and Android testing frameworks
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
- Basic understanding of system design for large-scale consumer mobile applications
- Familiarity with production monitoring and debugging tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- A growth mindset and curiosity about emerging Android technologies (e.g., Jetpack Compose, performance tooling, AI-assisted features)

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 4+ years of experience in native Android development
- Experience implementing modern Android design patterns
- Understanding of Android testing tools and methodologies
- Experience with production monitoring and performance optimization
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices
Additional Details The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
C$118,000 - C$157,500
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
